Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) leaders Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka have been remanded to five days of judicial custody following a confrontation with Delhi Police at Jantar Mantar. The two were detained after allegedly entering the area and raising slogans demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. Police have accused them of trespassing, violating prohibitory orders and obstructing a public servant. The action comes amid an ongoing dispute over their bail conditions following an earlier detention in Delhi. CJP leaders deny violating the bonds and say their protest concerns alleged irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls.
