Russia has urged Yemen's Iran-backed Houthis to stop targeting civilian infrastructure amid escalating missile and drone attacks on Saudi Arabia. Moscow's warning follows the deadly strike on Riyadh's King Khalid International Airport, which reportedly killed 13 people and injured hundreds. Russia's Foreign Ministry says it has communicated its concerns directly to the Houthis and called for restraint from all sides. The move is significant given Moscow's close strategic partnership with Iran, which has expanded through a comprehensive cooperation treaty covering defence, trade and energy. Russia also maintains important diplomatic and economic ties with Saudi Arabia, including cooperation through OPEC+. Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia says it intercepted another ballistic missile heading towards Riyadh, as Donald Trump considers joining Saudi military operations against the Houthis. With regional tensions rising, Moscow is seeking to prevent further escalation while balancing its relationship
