Benjamin Netanyahu has publicly indicated that he opposes a fresh attack on Iran in the coming days, just after an Israeli television report claimed he had urged Donald Trump to renew military operations before Israel’s October 27 election. Speaking to Army Radio, Netanyahu said such an attack was, “in my opinion, not convenient for us.” His remarks contrast with a Channel 12 report citing American officials who said Netanyahu had repeatedly discussed another operation against Iran with Trump. Netanyahu’s office denied that he was seeking another war before the election. The timing carries major political and security implications. Channel 12 also reported that IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir warned renewed fighting could trigger large-scale Iranian retaliation and potentially force the election to be postponed. With Israelis approaching the polls, Netanyahu’s latest remarks shift the immediate emphasis from whether Iran should be confronted to whether another confrontation should happen
