American singer Mary Millben has sparked a political controversy after accusing US-based donors opposed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi of funding the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP). In a post on X, Millben urged young Indians to “Rise up, young patriots!” and called for peaceful protests against the organisation, while praising Modi’s leadership. However, the alleged foreign funding links remain unverified, with no independently established evidence confirming her claims. The controversy comes amid renewed scrutiny of CJP’s finances, questions surrounding the funding of associated figures, and reports that CJP leaders Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka were sent to five days of judicial custody following an alleged breach of barricades and unauthorised entry into the Jantar Mantar protest area. As the debate intensifies, questions over political funding, alleged foreign interference, and peaceful political activism are drawing attention across India. Did US donors really fund CJP, or do these
