More than 161,000 people joined demonstrations across France on 13 October over teacher shortages, overcrowded classrooms and deteriorating school buildings. Most marched peacefully, but some protests involved vandalism, fires and clashes with police. The movement has also become a political dispute. France Unbowed has rejected accusations that it organised the unrest, saying it supports non-violent demonstrations. Julia Hartley-Brewer discusses France’s school protests with The Spectator’s France correspondent Gavin Mortimer. #news #france #protests #paris #frenchpolitics Have you got a story?
