U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., CMS Administrator Dr. Mehmet Oz and other officials announce new measures to combat alleged fraud, waste and improper payments across federal health insurance programs. CMS says it identified 189,000 subsidized Affordable Care Act enrollments involving duplicate Medicare, Medicaid or CHIP coverage, or records showing enrollees had died. Officials estimate the reviews could prevent $738 million in improper subsidy payments in 2026 and generate more than $1.5 billion in annualized savings. They say affected individuals receive 30 days to dispute records before subsidies are terminated. For more details, watch our story and subscribe to our channel, DRM News.
