A 48-year-old patient at Prince of Wales Hospital's spinal unit has been charged with attempted murder after allegedly dousing three fellow patients with petrol and setting one alight. Radovan Banic, a 54-year-old wheelchair-bound patient recovering from spinal surgery, suffered burns in the attack, while two other patients aged 63 and 64 were doused with fuel but escaped ignition. Raymond James Dungay was arrested on the ward and charged with five offences, sparking an internal investigation into hospital security and criticism of NSW Health Minister Ryan Park for delaying public notification of the incident for almost 20 hours.
