Passengers of the MV Awka have been rescued after the ferry spent three days drifting on the open ocean because the engine failed. The ferry broke down in Solomon Islands' remote Temotu waters more than 100km from its destination. French and Australian planes dropped emergency supplies before help arrived to tow the ferry to safety. ‘The Pacific’ is hosted by Johnson Raela and Alice Lolohea. #ABCThePacific Watch The Pacific on ABC Australia or on ABC iView: https://iview.abc.net.au/show/pacific Like ABC Pacific on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/ABCPacific Follow ABC Pacific on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/abcpacific/ For more from ABC Pacific news, click here: https://www.abc.net.au/pacific Subscribe: http://ab.co/1svxLVE Note: In most cases, our captions are auto-generated. #ABCNEWS #ABCNEWSAustralia
