Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and dedicated five development projects worth around ₹3,350 crore in Ladakh on October 15, 2026, via video conferencing. The projects cover air and road connectivity, power infrastructure, heritage conservation and water security. They include the new passenger terminal at Leh airport, the 298-km Nimmu-Padum-Darcha Road, the Hanu Small Hydroelectric Project, a transmission line, India’s first Petroglyph Conservation Park in Leh and 40 water bodies developed under Project Him Sarovar.
