Two commercial ships have sunk near the Strait of Hormuz amid escalating attacks on maritime traffic during the US-Israel war on Iran. The Singapore-flagged GFS Pride sank with all 21 crew members rescued, while the Antigua and Barbuda-flagged Cape Dao sank after a September projectile strike that killed one crew member. Iran is reportedly adopting new tactics against vessels transiting the strategic waterway, through which around one-fifth of global oil and LNG trade passed before the war. US President Donald Trump says the conflict will end quickly. Meanwhile, CENTCOM says US forces destroyed an Iranian-affiliated boat in the Gulf of Oman.
