How is the ocean divided into different regions? In this lesson for high school students, we explore the depths of the open ocean! As we descend from the familiar sunlight zone near the top, we pass through zones that become progressively darker and colder until we reach the ocean floor. What types of life do you think we will find along the way? Can anything live in the intensely cold, high-pressure environment near the bottom of the ocean? We’ll explore these questions as we travel through each zone. This lesson is from MiaPrep's Environmental Science course.
