YouTuber Dhruv Rathee has become a prominent voice in India's online political debate, often examining government decisions and questioning those in power. He is currently in India, and at an event in Bengaluru, he was seen standing alongside leaders of the 'Cockroach Janata Party' (CJP). However, on October 10, the day a major protest by the CJP was scheduled to take place at Jantar Mantar, the police took Dhruv into custody from his home in Gurugram. In this interview, Dhruv Rathee speaks to BBC’s Sarvapriya Sangwan about questions he faced around his citizenship and the ongoing protests over India's voter lists and the role of the Election Commission.
