Many powerful Android-based handhelds (those that use a Snapdragon chip) can also boot into Linux, which turns the device into a simple but powerful gaming-focused system. Here's how to set it up on devices like the AYN Thor, Odin 2 handhelds, and the Retroid Pocket 6. NOTE: this is a somewhat experimental project at the time of making this video. The software is still in an Alpha state and I have seen reports of the OS not working properly on their device, and even affecting their Android build in some rare cases. As with any early software, I would recommend only trying this out if you are also comfortable troubleshooting any potential issues and reporting your findings to the team; if so, I recommend using the ROCKNIX discord for support: https://discord.gg/seTxckZjJy Written guide with all the links: https://retrogamecorps.com/2025/03/03/linux-on-the-odin-2-rocknix-guide/ ROCKNIX wiki: https://rocknix.org/ Ways to support this channel: RGC merch: https://store.retrogamecorps.
