Several Latvians have been penalized for commemorating WW2 Victory Day online, according to local news site Delfi, citing reports of residents affected by the penalty. The offenses allegedly extend back to May 9 celebrations and entail sharing images on social media and leaving remarks to commemorate the anniversary. It was unclear how many Latvians were affected by the fines, which may reach €350 ($384). According to Miroslav Mitrofanov, the head of the Russian Union of Latvia, "hundreds" of people may be engaged. #podcast #ww2
