There are a lot of odd things about North Korea, the country under such strict authoritarian rule that people aren't able to travel freely in and out and communication with the outside world is rigorously controlled. Today we list 5 weird facts about North Korea we do know. 1). North Korea has a unique calendar system that starts from the birth year of its founder, Kim Il-sung (1912). 2). North Koreans are required to wear lapel pins bearing the image of one of the country's leaders at all times. 3). The country has a strict dress code, with government-approved hairstyles for men and women. 4). North Korea has its own version of the Internet, known as Kwangmyong, which is only available to a select group of people and is heavily censored. 5).The country has a social class system which is based on family background and loyalty to the regime. The system determines access to education, job opportunities, and other state-provided goods and services.
