With sporadic instances of long-range drones straying into the airspace of Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland, Ukraine has apologized on several occasions to the affected Baltic states, blaming Russian jamming capabilities on the incidents. Drones rely on satellite-based navigation systems that are often prone to “disturbances, jamming” and “spoofing,” Hans Liwang, a drone expert from the Swedish Defence University said on Thursday, backing Ukraine’s claims. On spoofing, Liwang said, “[It] means that you can send the signal that will make the system think that it is somewhere else.
