Russia has launched large-scale nuclear military exercises with Belarus, involving missile systems, submarines, bombers and strategic forces. President Vladimir Putin called nuclear weapons an “extreme, exceptional measure” while stressing the importance of maintaining Russia’s nuclear capabilities. Moscow says the drills are meant to test combat readiness amid growing tensions with NATO over the war in Ukraine.
