Actor Noah Wyle, star of the acclaimed HBO medical dramas "The Pitt" and "ER" joined healthcare workers as they rallied outside the U.S. Capitol in Washington, DC on Thursday. Wyle was joined by his mother, who worked as a nurse for decades. "I want to be super clear about who is talking to you right now," Wyle told the gathered crowd. "I am not a doctor. I am not a nurse. I am not a member in any way of the healthcare workforce that I love so dearly. I am an actor. I'm the son of a nurse who spent 50 years caring for other people, and I've spent decades trying to do justice to what she and the rest of you actually do." The group of doctors, nurses, and other healthcare workers urged lawmakers to support the Healthcare is Human Act, which would provide tax credits for workers in areas of the country experiencing medical staffing shortages.
