Sky News host Caleb Bond says the Albanese government is “all over the shop” as a result of the fallout from the federal budget. “You could fairly describe the government as all over the shop today as the fallout from the federal budget rolled on a week-and-a-half after it was handed down by Treasurer Jim Chalmers,” Mr Bond said. “The government is under pressure over its quasi-death tax, that is, the minimum 30 per cent tax to be applied to discretionary trusts will also apply to testamentary discretionary trusts, which are a mechanism to continue some control after you die over how money and assets are distributed from your will.”
