Large and powerful waves are hitting south-east Queensland's beaches, bringing with them the potential for significant coastal erosion. Some of the Gold Coast's already eroded beaches can expect further damage with a hazardous surf warning in place for Saturday and Sunday. It's expected to bring waves of up to four metres, caused by a low in the Tasman Sea. Powerful swells are expected to ease by Monday.
