A major rescue operation is underway in Northern China following a fatal gas explosion at a coal mine, killing at least 82 people. State media has called the blast the deadliest mine disaster in more than a decade. A large-scale rescue operation is underway, although rescuers say the maps they have been provided do not match the actual tunnel layouts. The majority of the people admitted to the hospital have suffered injuries related to gas inhalation.
