Nasire Best has been identified as the alleged gunman who was shot dead by the US Secret Service near the White House. He is a 21-year-old man from Maryland with a history of mental health issues. US House Speaker Mike Johnson commented on this. “I talked to the President late last night, this wasn't even a topic of our conversation,” Mr Johnson said. “He accepts it as part of the responsibility of the duty of the job.”
