The 1950s were a golden age for sci-fi creature features, while the earlier universal horror era had already given audiences icons like frankenstein’s monster. from giant bugs and radioactive beasts to creature from the black lagoon, monster cinema had already built a language that later films could remix. very few modern monster movies actually compare to the films of this era in terms of originality and memorability. a film that was inspired by this era of movies and manages to co me close is ron underwood’s 1990 film tremors. the film dealt with the inhabitants of the town of perfection surviving an attack from the graboids, giant worm-like subterranean predators that live underground. this hilarious film soon grew into a cult franchise that eventually grew into six sequels and one short-lived tv series. #TremorsTheSeries #TremorsTV #Tremors2003 #Tremors #Graboids
