Riot police in Turkey have forced their way into the opposition party’s headquarters to evict its ousted leadership. Chaotic scenes were captured outside the Republican People’s Party’s building, as officers resorted to the use of tear gas to enter. It follows a court decision annulling the results of the party’s 2023 Congress, ousting its leader Ozgur Ozel. He described the ruling as a “judicial coup” and was removed from the headquarters following the police intervention.
