Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney warned Alberta separatists against using the threat of secession as leverage in future negotiations, calling it a “dangerous bluff.” “I saw firsthand what happened in the United Kingdom,” Carney said, comparing Alberta separatism to the Brexit referendum of a decade ago. “They’re still, ten years later, trying to undo what people didn’t think they were voting for, but what they ended up having,” he said.
