WHO says Congo Ebola outbreak “outpacing” response efforts as patients flee violence

As Ebola continues to spread in the eastern part of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), the World Health Organization (WHO) says it’s moving so quickly that it’s outpacing response efforts. However, this recent outbreak isn’t the only challenge the DRC faces – ongoing conflict has plagued the country for nearly 30 years with people continuing to be massacred daily. The head of the WHO says violence is forcing people to flee, which severely impedes efforts to scale up Ebola contact tracing. Nathaniel Dove has more.
