Israel’s military says it is expanding its ground operation in southern Lebanon beyond the Yellow Line. The military says the operation is aimed at addressing what it describes as threats to civilians and troops. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says Israel will intensify strikes against Hezbollah. “Under my direction and that of the minister of defence … we are deepening our operation in Lebanon,” Mr Netanyahu said. “The IDF is operating with large forces on the ground and is seizing control of areas. We are fortifying the security zone to protect the northern communities.”
