Deputy Liberal Leader Jane Hume claims the Labor government is trying to ram its tax changes through the Senate. “The most important thing is that this toxic tax mess that Labor have introduced through this budget is not just scrutinised but axed,” Ms Hume told Sky News Australia. “The Senate’s job is scrutiny of legislation; why deny the Senate the opportunity to scrutinise possibly the most far-reaching cash-grab tax that the parliament has seen in decades?”
