Fuel excise cut a key factor in lower than expected inflation

AMP Deputy Chief Economist Diana Mousina discusses whether the government's halving of the fuel excise was the real reason inflation was lower than expected. “It was mostly due to the fuel excise cut,” Ms Mousina told Sky News Australia. “There was also a big, unexpected fall or larger fall in transport fares which contributed to a bit of a dip.”
