Spike Online Editor Tom Slater warns Donald Trump’s revived $10 billion defamation lawsuit against The Wall Street Journal risks “strongarming the free press” and could deepen tensions with parts of his own support base. “I think any attempt to strongarm the free press is one that should be resisted,” Mr Slater told Sky News host Sharri Markson. “This is something that has essentially created a bit of distance between Trump and his base. “Actions like this will only fuel the more critical to even conspiratorial ends of his support base.”
