Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu claims he directed his military to take over 70 per cent of Gaza. During a news conference, he confirmed Israel is 'tightening' its grip on Hamas, and now controls 60 per cent of the Gaza Strip. It follows a failed US brokered peace proposal in October last year, which attempted to halt Israel's attacks on the region. Mr Netanyahu is directing the Israeli Defence Force to move step by step into Gaza.
