Sky News host Caleb Bond says the Albanese government’s budget is “still front-page news” despite being 17 days old. Mr Bond said today’s edition has three top property organisations that the idea changes to negative gearing and capital gains tax will only increase rents by $2 a week is “fanciful”. “New modelling by independent consulting firm Qaive and Tulipwood has found the changes would push rents up by $477 a year by 2029-30 and mean that 8,740 fewer new homes would be built by the end of the decade.”
