After the earthquakes in Venezuela, the true loss is becoming clearer as the dust settles and search and rescue operations continue to dig people out of the rubble. On Friday afternoon, a government spokesperson said more than 900 people were confirmed dead and more than 3,000 are injured. Jackson Proskow reports. U.S. President Donald Trump is blaming Iran for Thursday’s drone strike on a cargo ship in the Strait of Hormuz, and now the United States has retaliated, targeting missile and drone sites along with coastal radar locations. Heather Yourex-West looks at what the ongoing uncertainty could mean for consumers as the summer travel season gets underway. Prime Minister Mark Carney has revealed a plan on Friday to restore 24 Sussex Drive. It has been the prime minister’s official residence since 1951 and fallen into disrepair, remaining vacant since 2015. As Global’s political correspondent David Akin reports, the latest estimate to renovate the residence exceeded $100 million.
