In 1999, televised science fiction was still heavily shaped by the long shadow of Star Trek. Many space shows leaned into cleaner command structures, brave captains, logical officers, starship crews, and optimistic futures. Then came a show on the Sci Fi Channel that broke the mold, twisted every familiar trope, and gave the genre something stranger, messier, louder, and far more chaotic. That show was Farscape! The premise was nothing less than original and bold. An American astronaut named John Crichton, our protagonist, is catapulted across the universe through a wormhole during an experimental space mission, then thrown into chaos when his module collides with a Peacekeeper fighter.
