Advocates say Canada should prepare for a wave of Haitian migrants after a pivotal court decision in the U.S. The U.S. Supreme Court, in a 6-3 ruling, overturned decisions by federal judges in New York and Washington that blocked the Trump administration from ending Temporary Protected Status for more than 350,000 people from Haiti and 6,100 from Syria. The decision clears a path for the administration to strip legal protections for migrants fleeing violence and natural disasters in Haiti and Syria, exposing hundreds of thousands of people to potential detention and deportation. As Elizabeth Zogalis reports, there are signs the decision has prompted more asylum seekers to look north.
