‘Triggered with Samara Gill’ host Samara Gill believes the Manchester Airport controversy became a case of social media outrage racing ahead of the facts, with public opinion dividing before the evidence emerged. Two years ago a video went viral showing a policeman at Manchester airport kicking a Muslim man in the head during a fight. The policeman was suspended, crowds in a Muslim area of Manchester protested, and a police station was egged. But then we saw what had happened up to that point. The Muslim Man and his brother were fighting three police, two of them women, and breaking the nose of one and punching the other to gang up on the lone male. “It’s kind of got this perfect concoction of race wars, social media getting entangled,” Ms Gill told Sky News host Andrew Bolt. “These brothers were kind of tried in the court of public opinion before in the courtroom. “Outrage moves faster than due process. “For me it’s a clear-cut case, but it wasn’t for the rest of the public.”
