The Samuel Griffith Society Executive Director Mia Schlicht claims the alleged conflict of interest surrounding net zero advice exposes a system designed to benefit politically connected insiders rather than ordinary Australians. “It is a perfect example of that conflict of interest,” Ms Schlicht told Sky News host Andrew Bolt. “Net zero ideology has established this net zero economy, which makes it so difficult to untangle Australia from these net zero commitments. “I think the fact that we have an individual whose job it is to advise government about these nations' best interest … and the fact that the government is not calling out that very belated conflict really just goes to the heart of the problem that is net zero. “It is there to serve a certain group of insiders who are set to benefit from these policies.”
