Housing shortages will still arise despite disincentivising property investment

AMP Chief Economist Shane Oliver says fewer investors in the property market could result in “lower supply” of housing. Mr Oliver said it could end up with a situation of lower prices to buy property, but higher rents. “You still have a housing shortage in the country.”
