The eSafety Commissioner has fronted the Royal Commission on Antisemitism and Social Cohesion, outlining efforts to tackle the growing spread of online hate. Julie Inman Grant warned the threat of online hate speech and violence is growing exponentially, claiming social media platform X fought to keep videos of the Bondi terror attack online. Ms Inman Grant said X argued the footage “it’s not any worse than you would see in a gore movie”. “And I said: I can’t think of anything more horrific for the family members and the Australian Jewish community,” she said.
