More than a week after Venezuela's devastating twin earthquakes, rescue crews pulled a security guard alive from beneath the rubble of a collapsed shopping mall in La Guaira. The complex operation took roughly 70 hours, and involved specialized rescue teams from several countries. His wife said she never gave up hope after learning he had survived underground without food or water. The earthquakes have now claimed more than 2,200 lives, with rescue and recovery efforts continuing.
