Opposition Leader Angus Taylor blasts Labor for refusing to back the Coalition’s amendments to scrap the controversial “widow tax”, accusing the government of targeting vulnerable people. “The widows tax. I mean, it’s extraordinary. He’s going to hit some of the most vulnerable people, divorcees, and widows,” Mr Taylor said. “We put an amendment to the parliament in the last sitting for them to vote on that could have gotten rid of that. Nah, not interested.”
