The first case of H5 bird flu has been confirmed in New South Wales. ​It follows testing on an infected giant petrel, a seabird that spends most of its time over the water. ​It was found near Hawks Nest on the state's Mid North Coast on Friday. ​New South Wales Agriculture Minister Tara Moriarty said the state government is continuing to monitor the situation.
