Israeli Ambassador to the U.S. Yechiel Leiter accused "members of the elite media" of participating in a modern "blood libel" against Israel. "If we were guilty of the things that we're accused of, my son would be alive today, and hundreds of other soldiers would be alive today," he said Monday at the Council on Foreign Relations. "Because we don't strafe bomb population centers from above and we don't starve population centers and we don't commit genocide." Amb. Leiter compared the rhetoric to historical antisemitic accusations, including claims of "Jews using Christian blood for their matzahs, poisoning wells and spreading disease." "And that big, bold blood libel of which the elite media have participated in, one day, will have to stand in front of their god, whoever it may be, and say what we did was nothing short of the accusations of the Middle Ages," he said. #cspan #yechielleiter #israel #media
