With that cold open, the third episode of House of the Dragon Season 3 essentially becomes the logical first episode, and while it spent almost its entirety in King’s Landing, focussing on Rhaenyra and her ‘heavy is the head that wears the crown’ moment, the Rhaenyra Triumphant episode had a number of changes from the book, and as usual some of these inventions of the show are much better than the book, while the others… well, not so much. For instance, Ormond’s new scheme and the new dynamic between the Queen, her King Consort and their master of whisperers is pretty awesome, and then there’s the new reason that the show is trying to give Hugh Hammer for his inevitable betrayal. #HouseOfTheDragon #HOTDSeason3 #HOTDBookDifferences
