Prime Minister Mark Carney was in Ankara, Turkey on Wednesday for the last day of the 2026 NATO Summit. Many world leaders have the same objective, to keep the peace with U.S. President Donald Trump as he criticizes alliance members for not spending enough on defence. According to the prime minister, Canada will increase it’s 2026 defence budget to $71.5 billion dollars, helping with the extension of “Operation Reassurance” in Latvia.
