President Trump said Wednesday he was not sure whether he wanted to make a deal with Iran as the two sides resume trading strikes, putting last month's ceasefire deal on life support. "We can play games, but I'm not sure I want to make a deal. Let's just finish the job," he told reporters during a press conference at the NATO summit in Turkey. President Trump had previously praised Iran's new leaders as "very rational," "strong," and "smart," but on Wednesday called them "scum" and "evil." Asked what changed, the president said he "got to know them." "I think they're much more rational than level one, level two," he said. "I think they are more rational, but based on their actions over the last week or two, they're not doing a service to the people, and I think more than anything else is, I got to know them." A few minutes later, the president said he did not think the conflict would turn into a full-blown war again, saying whatever action the U.S. takes "will go very quickly."
