Nationals Senator Ross Cadell says food delivery drivers winning a 25 per cent pay rise “won’t hurt” productivity. “These are people who don’t have power, who are probably at the bottom of the food chain, and they’re delivering it for us,” Mr Cadell told Sky News host Paul Murray. “If there has to be a sort of convenience tax where we have to pay a little bit more to get this stuff delivered to us, I’m for it. “If they can’t earn a wage and have some security of doing that, that’s not a good thing. “It’s a little bit indulgent that we expect everything to be delivered to us within 20 minutes nowadays, so if it costs a little bit extra, so be it.”
