Ever since the Ghost in the Shell’s 2026 new manga adaptation was announced, we have known that this is the first time a web series will faithfully follow the source manga written by Shirow Masamune. But faithful doesn’t mean copying everything from panel to panel and pasting it into the screenplay. A faithful adaptation means that this series will follow the exact linear plot of the manga, but with cinematic subtlety; they also brought some changes in the screenplay, like expanding the action sequences, changing the colour and costume of the characters, and a whole rearrangement of scenes and dialogues. The first episode has just been released, and I’m glad to see the direct manga references; however, there are some tweaks that I would love to explore in this video. #GhostInTheShell #TheGhostInTheShell #gits
