Massive wildfires tear through Fraser Canyon in BC

Forest firefighters are battling against two massive wildfires tearing through the Fraser Canyon in B.C. Properties in Brunswick Creek faced major destruction over the past week, including the family-owned Blue Lake Resort, where Operations Manager Saeed Mansouri says “everything burned down”. All summer bookings have been cancelled for the resort as they deal with fallen trees and debris scattered everywhere. Crews are also battling a much larger fire in Ainslie Creek, and B.C. Wildfire Information Officer Julia Caranci says they’re expecting to see “elevated fire behaviour and activity” due to strong winds.
