Thousands attended Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei's funeral as mourners flooded the streets in Iran Thursday. Khamenei was buried at the Shrine of Imam Reza, Iran’s holiest shrine, following a week of mass funeral processions and rallies. Khamenei was killed in an airstrike on the first day of the war on Feb. 28, as part of a U.S.-Israeli barrage against Iran that set off a months-long conflict that has killed thousands and throttled worldwide energy supplies.
